BTW, I would add that Google is undertaking Chrome specifically to keep the HTML + JavaScript software stack viable by making it fast enough to compete with Adobe Flash/Air and MSFT's Silverlight platforms.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In doing so, I believe they are merely trying to keep the core Web infrastructure open, as they are donating most of this tech back to the open source community.
